Wondering how it all works? Here is the Event Lowdown.
You get to choose two fabulous dishes prepared by two aspiring hobby chefs. You can order dinner/brunch passes for you and a friend who will be your dining partner for the event. The two of you travel from hobby chef to hobby chef and meet the whole crew at the Social Bites Hot Spot location.
1. Stop
Dinner Excursion on a Saturday @ 6:00 p.m. / Brunch Excursion on a Sunday @ 11:00 a.m. - You arrive at the 1st hobby chef’s home with your dining partner. You meet two other foodies and the hobby chef who is going to 'wow' you with an amazing home cooked dish. After an entertaining hour you are on your way to the next hobby chef. While you are walking, riding the bus or driving to the next home you and your dinner partner fill out the judging ballot and rate the hobby chef on hospitality, and the dish on taste and presentation.
2. Stop
Dinner Excursion around 7:30 p.m. / Brunch Excursion around 12:30 p.m. – You arrive at the 2nd hobby chef’s home. You are introduced to two new food fans that are eating with you. The hobby chef presents his/her delicious dish; you eat, meet, and have a great time. One hour quickly passes by and it’s time for all guests, hobby chefs and sous-chefs to move to the Social Bites Hot Spot Location.
3. Stop
Dinner Excursion around 9:00 p.m. – You and all other diners, hobby chefs, and sous-chefs (up to 24 people) meet at the Social Bites Hot Spot where we serve dessert or local treats. Plus, we announce the Hobby Chef Award Winner. The event ends no later than 10:30 p.m.
Brunch Excursion around 2:00 p.m. – You and all other brunch enthusiasts, hobby chefs, and sous-chefs (up to 24 people) meet at the Social Bites Hot Spot where some 'food for thought' awaits you. For each event we invite one of Vancouver's food industry movers and shakers to give you some insight into their world. Plus, we announce the Hobby Chef Award Winner. The event ends no later than 3:30 p.m.
